Q: How do I sign up for a lesson?

A: There are two ways to sign up for a lesson: 1) email our instructor at lessons@jubileeequine.com or 2) call our number (701) 353-0001 extension 1.

Q: How do I pay for lessons?

A: You may pay for lessons in person with either check or cash. We require that all lessons are paid for in advance.

Q: Do I need my own horse?

A: No you do not need your own horse, you can take a lesson on one of our school horses!

Q: Do I need my own helmet?

A: No, we have a variety of helmet sizes for all ages. However, we do recommend buying one if you plan to continue lessons regularly for your own comfort. We require ALL riders in our lesson program to wear and ASTM-SEI certified horseback riding helmet.

Q: What should I or my child wear to a horseback riding lesson?

A: We ask that riders wear long pants as well as closed-toed boots with at least a 1/2″ heel. We do not recommend riding in tennis shoes because they are not safe, so please plant to obtain the proper footwear for lessons.

Q: How much does a riding lesson cost?

A: Private lessons: $65/hour; Group lessons: $55/hour

Q: What is included in a riding lesson?

A: The first 15 minutes will consist of catching, grooming, and tacking the horse. The lesson will then consist of about 40 minutes of mounted activities. The last 5 minutes will consist of untacking, grooming, and putting the horse away.

Q: What kind of lessons are offered?

A: We offer beginner through intermediate western or english riding lessons, including beginning jumping lessons.

Q: What is the cancellation policy?

A: You will not be charged if you need to cancel a lesson if you do so at least an hour before the lesson. When a student has not called to cancel, or the student does not show up for the lesson, JUBILEE EQUINE has the right to charge for the lesson. If the instructor needs to cancel a lesson due to illness or inclement weather, the rider will not be charged. As both of the arenas are indoor and climate controlled, temperature and precipitation do not have an effect on whether classes will be held. If, in any extreme weather, lessons need to be cancelled, the decision will be made by noon the day of the lesson, and the riders will be contacted.

Q: How far in advance do I need to schedule a lesson?

A: We ask you schedule lessons at least two days in advance, otherwise there are no guarantees of openings.

Q: Do gift certificates expire?

A: There is a 90 day return policy on gift certificates. An unused lesson may not be refunded after 90 days, but it may still be redeemed and used after the 90 days.

Q: Can I bring my own horse for a lesson?

A: Yes, you can bring your own horse for a lesson. There is a haul-in fee of $20 per horse, plus your lesson fee. A private lesson on your horse costs $50/hour and a group lesson costs $40/hour.
